• Main Objective
• Analyse market potential for introduction of
  hydrogen energy technologies in SAPS (H-SAPS)
• Goals
• Remove uncertainty about market potential
• Pave way for sound investments in H2-technology
• Identify barriers and success factors
• Plan for demonstration projects
• Tool for authorities to promote new technologies

Project Limitations

• Small to medium sized SAPS (1 - 300 kWpeak power)
• Power supply for small communities and technical
  installations will be included in the study
• Uninterruptible power supply systems or other
  kinds of back-up power systems installed in areas
  where grid connection is available are not
  considered
• Small hydro power or other RE technologies which
  have readily available energy storage capacity
  are not included
• Major focus on fuel cells for re-electrification
  of hydrogen
