• SLOSAFE
• Established in 1996 with the call box program
• Call box continue to be a safety net for
  stranded motorists (especially in areas with no
  cell phone coverage)
• Call box Digital ADA upgrade completed (Feb
  2007)

  box by using a cell phone
• Non-emergency freeway assistance.
• DOES NOT REPLACE 911
• Report freeway road hazard
• Request tow and other services
• Both English and Spanish speaking operators
• Can be combined with 511 Travels Information
  System

• Provide funding for motorists aid projects
  FY07/08
• Call for motorist aid projects will be included
  as a part of 2008 Transportation Programming
  Cycle (Oct 07) and programming in Feb 08
• Implement Mobile Call Box Program FY 08/09
• Evaluate results from Southern CA programs
• Coordinate with SBCAG and TMAC (launch date etc.)
• Possibility of combining with 511 travelers
  information system
