• 90s good local collections in unsorted
  boxes.
• 2000 Past Perfect used to catalogue HHS
  collection.
• Joined by Foxton, then Shannon, and HDC.
• Library does not compete
• We provide technical support.
• We build and host a website of their digital

Ramifications of going online

• Increase in physical donations managed with PP.
• Virtual donations of images and stories via email
  no way to accommodate these with PP.
• The Historical Societies struggling to manage.

Resources in Horowhenua

• assess the extent of the resources currently held
  in the district
• and assess the long-term 'safety' of these
  resources for future generations
• via survey, workshop and a comparison with
  similar local authorities

• HHS collection will treble in size over the next
  20 years.
• Networks of hoarders in the community.
• People looking for somewhere to take their
  collections .but much material will never be
  given away.
• People are happy to share.

Community Partnerships Fund

• Filed an expression of interest application to
  the National Digital Strategy Community
  Partnerships fund.
• Invited to submit a full application.
• Horowhenua District Council and Levin SeniorNet
  agreed to partner with us.
• Success !
