• DfES to limit Census changes in 2008 / 2009

Usual Mode of Travel

• Collected in January only
• Mandatory for the 35 School Travel Plan
  Schools
• November upgrade will add new DfES codes into
  the Modes of Travel field.
• Capita confirmed old codes will be mapped
  automatically to the new ones
• Recommend collecting this data through your
  Student Update Forms in future years

• Collected each Census for the previous term
• Autumn (Sept) Census will no longer collect the
  previous years
• Includes No of Possible sessions, Attendance
  Codes, No of Sessions missed
• New codes to be used from September 2006
• Only pupils who attend should be on Current /
  Former roll

• Compulsory from 2008 to use the new DfES Codes
• Kirklees LA not using them until after Jan
  Census
• Further details to follow next term
