40 Just how do pull all this together and make
it work?
41THE BOARD SETS POLICY AND DETERMINES ACTION
42The Executive Director is responsible for
implementation of policy.
43If it is not policy the E.D. listens to the
discussion and is given guidance by the board
44The E.D. hires and fires staff, whose salaries
and job descriptions have been approved by the
board.
45When a board member volunteers at the office that
person is treated as a staff person and no longer
wears the hat of a board member.
46Individual board members do not give assignments
to staff members. This is the Executive
Directors task.
47Staff members do not complain to individual board
members about assignments, programs and/or
policies.
48Working as a Team
- Making it Happen Clear Job Descriptions,
Participatory Meetings, Shared Passion for the
Mission
