Budget Surplus

• The CMC will have a budget surplus of
  approximately 105,000 for CY05
• Key factors for surplus
• 4 new CMC members
• Next Generation MOS support was budgeted at
  40,000, but model selection is occurring late in
  the year
• Need to establish a plan for this surplus by the
  end of the year or go to GEIA

Potential Surplus Uses

• HICUM there are some open issues that may need
  additional funding to reach closure on, such as
  optimized derivative calculations
• Design tools for support universities
• Next generation MOS model model will be select
  this year
• At least provide some start-up funds to the
  selected model support group
• Potentially provide some funds to the runner up
  groups as they all put in substantial effort to
  prepare the models and present to the CMC
