Our Focus Today
Key Concepts Convergence, C.A.N. Strategy,
Purpose
  • Explore the career counseling trends that are
driving role and knowledge convergence in both
    the work world and education.
  • Its a new work world and students priorities
are different, too. They need to find meaningful
purpose, not just a job. (The Path to Purpose)
  • Identify what makes an effective and useful
student Education Career Action Plan (ECAP).
  • Discuss and utilize ECAP ideas that will
encourage students to take the drivers seat in
    planning their futures.

Begin with the end in mind.
Its goes way beyond articulation Think of the
end goal, not just the next step. Know the big
picture and how you contribute to it!Remember
teaching to prepare students for YOUR work world
ispreparing them to fail. We must prepare them
for THEIR work world which means we must
thoroughly understand what that is and how it
alters our current educational landscape.
