Cyber Universities

• 17 cyber universities with 32 departments and 82
  majors
• Students can get bachelor degree online
• Opened under the Higher education act and
  Lifelong education act
• Lifelong education facilities in the form of
  distance learning universities
• Starting 2009, the universities will be
  classified as regular higher education
  institutions

• Credit Receiving Program with University Remote
  Lecture
• Online lectures for students who are in military
  service
• Started from fall 2007
• 25 universities open 841 lectures, 752
  student-soldiers registered in fall 2008
• Last semester 5 universities with 40 lectures,
  147 students

Konkuk University e-Campus

• Online lecturing system for students
• Launched in 2004 by Konkuk Center for Teaching
  and Learning (KCTL)
• 35 subjects and 4459 students in spring semester
  of 2004
• KCTL is the central management point of the
  e-Campus

• Professor uploads lecture materials to media
  server

• They can discuss and ask questions online
• Twice in a semester students must take offline
  examinations

• Korea developed a good infrastructure for
