The Minerva Project?
  • The Minerva Project began as a concept of the
    Member Education Committee in 1997.
  • The idea was to enable ALL of our members to be
    able to address the numerous challenges facing
    Greeks today, specifically the challenges that
    SAE faces.

What is The Minerva Project?
  • It is an all-encompassing program that involves
    ALL MEMBERS of the Fraternity.
  • It will enhance the individual faculties of each
    member, including but not limited to moral,
    mental, social, physical, cultural, and spiritual
    growth through four developmental components.
  • Cultivate in ALL of our members a LIFETIME
    commitment to their chapter, community, province,
    and the international organization.

  • INVOLVES EVERY MEMBER
  • IT IS NOT A PLEDGE EDUCATION
  • PLEDGE PROGRAM4,6,8 weeks then nothing.

Orientation Passageway(First-Year Members)
  • Fraternity
  • Complete the chapter New Member Education Program
  • Attend 75 of chapter activities
  • Learn the officers/chairmen/committees of the
    chapter
  • Meet your advisors and House Corporation
  • Attend a recruitment workshop
  • Attend the Ritual workshop after initiation
  • Service
  • Complete a service project as part of a group
  • Life Skills
  • Complete two life skills
  • Personal
  • Set goals and achievement strategies
  • Establish and maintain a relationship with a
  • mentor
  • Mens health issue- alcohol and other drugs

Academic/Campus Complete the chapter

What can the Minerva Project do for the
individual?
  • Develop important life skills not found in the
    classroom.
  • Refine academic personal goals.
  • Foster strong support networks for life.
  • Provide a mentor that can be a guide and resource
    throughout life.
  • Provide a positive fraternity experience. How
    many alumni graduate angry or dissatisfied and
    never come back?
  • Build a portfolio of collegiate fraternal
    experiences to assist with life after college.

What can the Minerva Project do for the chapter?
  • Provides a framework for sustaining leadership
    development and continuity.
  • Improves retention of New Members and keeps the
    interest of ALL members for the entire
    undergraduate career.
  • Develops Recruitment-minded members who attract
    the best men.
  • Makes Sigma Alpha Epsilon a value-based
    organization.
  • Educates attracts more and new alumni
    volunteers.
  • Keeps the focus of the chapter on using and
    understanding our Ritual and living the life of a
    True Gentleman.

How will it be carried out?
  • Implementation Retreat

How does the chapter sign up?
  • 80 of the chapter must vote to become a pilot
    chapter.
  • Must have an advisory board recruited and in
    place.
  • One advisor must attend the alumni leadership
    school.
  • Agree that ALL Members of the chapter must
    participate.
  • Must agree to be True Gentlemen. A model for
    others on your campus and in your community to
    follow.
