2Introduction
Did you know that Brazil has their winter in
June and July? In my report I will be
talking about land , people, and history .
3Land
The rainforest in Brazil is bigger than a
town. They have an opera house in Monaus made by
rubber. Iit was created by an artist in
Europe.
4People
Did you know that the kids in Brazil work when
they are not in school?Also they do not have TVs
there either. In Brazil there are no regular
stores and the kids spend a lot of time in
school.
5Government The Brazilian government is a
federal republic. Brazil had 7 constitutions from
1822 to 1969. The government is divided into two
main governing bodies, the Federal Senate and the
Chamber of Deputies. Brazil has 23 states and 3
territories. The head of Brazil is the president.
6Leaders Past and Present
Dom Pedro I, the first emperor of Brazil,
helped bring about Brazils independence from
Portugal. Dom Pedro II ruled as emperor in the
early 1800s. He was 14 when he became emperor.
He opened the first railroad. Juscelino
Kubitschek was president from 1956 to 1961. He
was the creator of Brazilia. He brought business
and roads to Brazil.
7 Population The population of Brazil is about
176,029,560 (as of 1996). About 55 of the
people who live in Brazil came from Portugal,
Germany, Italy or Poland. One percent came from
Japan or the middle east. The population is
growing at the rate of 0.87.
8Climate
In Brazil it is very warm. There is lots of rain
in the Amazon forest. In the northeast there are
lots of droughts. In the southern plains of
Brazil the weather can be cold in the winter and
very rainy in the summer. June and July are
winter in Brazil.
9Places
The opera house in Rio de Janeiro was built on
rubber. It was designed by an artist in Europe
paid by money made by largest for selling rubber
in dial. The great rain forest has 80,000 plants
and lots of bird and animals. Salvador is two
cities in one. The two cities are divided into
two by a steep hill. Some people use electric
cars to get there. There are many government
buildings to visit here.
