• A well-paid position
• Nehemiah was able to serve 12 years as governor
  without compensation (Neh 514-16)
• Yet he could feed daily over 150 people (Neh
  517-18)

• Often we miss the great sacrifice he made
• Neh. 111 cupbearer to the king
• Phil. 21-11
• A sacrificial life for the needs of others
• Rom 121-2
• Are we willing to sacrifice?
• Our time? Our money? Our wills?
• Sacrifice is what it will take to make our
  congregation strong and pleasing to God
