Why 20 Free ECE Hours?

• To ensure opportunities are available for as many
  children as possible.
• To significantly reduce the cost to parents
• To build stronger foundations for future learning
• Research shows that 20 hours quality education
  is the minimum

Benefits to Preschool

• We will be funded on the child participation, not
  child places.
• Higher of funding because we have a higher of
  trained registered teachers
• We shall still receive funding for 28 calendar
  days for 5 year olds
• 5 years olds receiving education support will
  funded until they go to school

How does the funding work?

• Funding is for 6 hours maximum a day and up to 20
  hours a week.
• Child enrolments for more than 20 and less than
  30 hours will receive the usual funding
• WINZ subsidy still applies for those enrolments
  over 20 hours
• Parents Attest to how many hours they will claim
  for Preschool
