    complete the coursework online or in a
    traditional classroom.

  • To give the students the option of working online
    or in the classroom.
  • To provide additional face-to- face instruction
    to online students.
  • To give the face-to-face students the flexibility
    of working online.
  • To build enrollment numbers in advanced workforce
    classes

How to develop this type of course?
  • Develop ONE courseDO NOT Segregate Students
  • Develop instructional materials that work both
    online and a traditional classroom.
  • Develop assessment materials that work online.

What do students think of online optional?
  • It allows me to be more flexible with my time.
  • Allows the student to learn at their own pace, as
    well as enforces the need for reading the course
    material and use all resources available.
  • It is convenient.
  • If I'm in town I could go to the class. Even if
    I'm not in town but come back to visit (since my
    parents live here), I could talk to the professor
    as well, if necessary.
