with others, whose culture, language, and humor
are different from what you are used to.

and remember that they are people with feelings
sitting behind that computer screen.
7Yes, our life has a code of conduct. It extends
into all of our relationships.

conduct and values.

10We must respect the rights of others at all times.
11Here are some important rules of netiquette
- Never use curse words, slander, or write in all
CAPS. - Do not make offensive comments about others. You
would not want others to make offensive comments
about you.
12- Do not give out other individuals screen names
unless they have given you permission to do so. - Respect their privacy the same way you expect
everyone else to respect yours.
13- Be proud of who you are as an individual. Do not
hide behind a computer screen. Do not
misrepresent yourself to others. - Always let Buddies on the other end know if there
are other people reading or participating in your
conversation.
14- Do not use someone elses screen name. You would
not want to have someone else use yours. - Rememberrespect others and they will respect you!
15- One must use indicator of sarcasm and/or humor
after making like comments, i.e. Smiley Face or
equally appropriate laugh symbols. - It is easy to misinterpret what someone else is
saying without being able to look at their face.
16- Do not communincate with individuals you do not
know. - Let your parents know if a conversation or email
makes you feel uncomfortable. - Do not arrange to meet with someone you meet over
the Internet without first talking to your
parents.
17- Be aware that all information in an IM
conversation has the ability to be saved, pasted
and/or forwarded to at least 237 of the IM
partner's closest friends. - Do not type anything you are not ready for
everyone to see.
18Thou shalt not use a computer to harm other
people thou shalt not snoop around in other
people's computer files and, thou shalt not use
a computer to steal.

20The most important thing
- Use Common sense when using the Internet. Do not
abuse this wonderful and useful tool of
communication.
