5 Year Collection Development Acquisition

• Goal(s) To bring collections up to standards.
• Proposed Requested Revision of Goal(s) To review
  weeding and acquisition standards and procedures
  in the development of methodology of
  implementation for refining school library
  collections.

Curriculum Technology Integration

• Goal(s) Whiteboards, Jeopardy games sharing,
  vehicle for sharing good things links on LMS
  website as examples, TA-TEKS, database
  integration, explore possibility of links to
  databases with statement to see librarian for
  password.
• Proposed Requested Revision of Goal(s) To
  develop and review lesson plans that seamlessly
  integrate the use of technology to accomplish
  district-wide technology initiatives in support
  of ease-of-use for students and the community.

District Advocacy

• Goal(s) None submitted.
• Proposed Requested Revision of Goal(s) To
  develop, plan and implement an infrastructure
  that supports and publicizes the use of the
  school library as a vehicle for the support of
  reading and research among all members of the
  SAISD community.

District Level Challenged Books

• Goal(s) To review SAISD policy on challenged
  books.
• Proposed Requested Revision of Goal(s) To review
  the SAISD Board Policy and Administrative
  Procedures for management of challenged books to
  research challenged books at the local, state and
  national levels as a means of understanding and
  implementing the Library Bill of Rights
  throughout the SAISD community.

Grant

• Goal(s) To receive specific grant writing
  training as a team of support to others wanting
  to write successful grants
• to research and become familiar with grants
  appropriate for school libraries and district
  level purposes
• to create a list of the grants for librarians to
  access
• to write grants for own schools to practice what
  the members are learning to better assist
  librarians in the future
• to review and re-write the Improving Literacy
  Through School Libraries grant for application
  during 2006-2007.

Handbook Update

• Goal(s) To develop a more user-friendly
  handbook update and insert materials section by
  section during monthly meetings.
• Proposed Requested Revision of Goal(s) To
  support district librarians with a more
  user-friendly handbook that includes updated
  materials as well as new information to
  efficiently manage the school library and its
  patrons. To offer new librarians with a clear
  guide of information from first day to last day
  of general management tasks.

Internet Drivers Permit Review

• Goal(s) To facilitate implementation at district
  campuses review quiz questions for update every
  2 years and to assist in addressing curriculum
  concerns in regard to the IDP.

Library Skills

• Proposed Requested Revision of Goal(s) To review
  library skills scope sequence from other
  districts and decide how to best integrate an
  implementation program of library skills within
  the SAISD scope sequence.

Reading Is Fundamental, RIF

  continually review and refine ordering procedures
  and include this information in the Library
  Handbook to support RIF schools with themes and
  ideas for RIF distributions.

  provide current bibliographies which support the
  SAISD Scope Sequence and LMS Initiatives for
  use of district-purchased online resources and
  further collection development and analysis.
