Teacher Burnout in Special Education

2
  • Teacher burnout not only affects the teachers
in this profession, but the students they serve,
    (Beck Gargiulo, 2001).

3
Purpose
  • To discover if special education teachers in an
urban Midwestern school district have suffered
from burnout and to see what they believe the
    causes of burnout to be.

4
Hypothesis
  • Special education teachers have in fact suffered
from burnout and the major cause of this burnout
    is work overload.

5
Assumptions

honestly and as accurately as possible.
  • Teachers know the definition of burnout
  • Teachers understood what was being asked on the
    surveys

burnout is increased paper work and documentation
  • Our hypothesis is partially supported
