Process integration using Pinch Analysis
provides the instruments to establish the degree
of integration on a specific site and also gives
to the design engineer the possibility to find
solutions for further integration, using the site
utility system or process streams from different
processes. This is the case of an oil refinery
where thermal coupling between Hydrogen and Lube
Hydrofining plants are investigated in order to
minimise costs. Process Simulation software
package HYSYS and Process Integration software
SPRINT was used to perform analysis and synthesis
of thermal-coupling solutions.
