• According to the National Safe Kids Campaign,
  more than 70 percent of children ages 5 to 14
  (27.7 million) ride bicycles. This age group
  rides 50 percent more than the average bicyclist
  and accounts for approximately 21 percent of all
  bicycle-related deaths and nearly half of all
  bicycle-related injuries.

• Clothing is a very important element to practice
  bicycle safety. Your child should wear a helmet
  at all times to prevent him from sustaining a
  head injury. Smaller children who are still shaky
  on their bicycles may want to wear elbow and knee
  pads also. For children who ride regularly in
  traffic, reflective or light colored clothing is
  recommended, especially for riding past dusk in
  the evening. These clothes will enable oncoming
  motorists to see them against the dark sky also
  you should keep your bike well kept and in good
  condition.?

7 Tips to keeping your bike safe

• Tip 1 keep your chain well oiled.
• Tip 2 after riding store your bike in some sort
  of a shelter.
• Tip 3 try to clean your bike daily.
• Tip 4 dont ride your bike while its raining to
  keep from rust.
• Tip 5 replace you wheels when possible.
• Tip 6 keep your seat tightened at a comfortable
  level always.
• Tip 7 keep your handle bars tightened at all
  times.

Why I think bicycle safety is important.

• I think bicycle safety if important because as it
  says in slide two 27.7 million kids ride bikes
  and if we didnt have bike safety laws almost
  garneted those 27.7 million kids would be either
  dead or seriously injured. Thats why I think
  bike safety is important.
