What is LRC Live?
  • A cooperative VCCS-wide initiative to provide
    live reference service over the Internet.

  • How can LRC Live help?
  • Allows reference staff member and patron to work
    together online and use Internet resources
    collaboratively and interactively
  • Help define research need
  • Identify and locate appropriate sources,
    including licensed and public web sites and print
    resources
  • Teach electronic resource searching.
  • Assist with evaluation of resources
  • Provide the same assistance online as is provided
    in the LRC

When can you connect to LRC Live?
  • The hours are posted on the LRC Live web page.
  • 45 Hours a Week
  • Monday Thursday 10 am 8 pm
  • Friday 10 am 4 pm
  • Sunday Noon-3 pm and 5 pm 8 pm
  • Use email reference when LRC Live is not
    available.
  • Appointments are also available

  • Reference staff from 16 VCCS colleges

  • Who can use LRC Live?
  • ll VCCS students, not just online students
  • All VCCS faculty and staff
  • Anyone else, although LRC Licensed resources will
    not be available to them.
  • What is LRC Live usage?
  • All VCCS Colleges
  • Fall 03-Spring 05 43 increase
  • Busiest days are Tues and Wed
