- The are special terms actors use when they learn
blocking. These terms are sometimes called Stage
Directions. There are five main stage
directions - Upstage the stage area away from the audience.
- Downstage the stage area toward the audience.
- Center stage the center of the stage.
- Stage Left the left side of the stage from the
actors point of view. - Stage Right the right side of the stage from the
actors point of view.
