Weather
  • By Chase and Jennifer

2
Water cycle
  • The water cycle is powered by the sun.
  • Without the sun we wouldnt have weather.

3
Evaporation and Condensation
  • When air is heated it will rise then it will
    expand.
  • Evaporation is when liquid turns into gas.
  • When water evaporates it forms clouds which is
    condensation.

4
Precipitation and Collection
  • Hail, rain and snow are forms of precipitation.
  • Precipitation always comes from clouds.
  • After it precipitates the rain goes into rivers,
lakes and oceans it is called collection.

5
Cloud Types
  • Cirrus clouds
  • Nimbus clouds
  • Stratus clouds
  • Cumulus clouds
  • Here are some websites to visit.
  • Cloud and storms
  • Weather symbols
  • Water cycle

6
Cirrus clouds
  • Cirrus clouds are made out of ice crystals and
    they usually mean fair weather.
  • Cirrus clouds are the highest clouds.

7
Stratus Clouds
  • Stratus clouds are bright, white and usually
    mean fair weather.
  • They are thick and have lots of layers.

8
Cumulus clouds
  • Cumulus clouds are a sign of good weather.
  • They are 1000m.
  • Theyre most likely to rain when theyre very
    big.
  • Sometimes will develop into storms.

9
Nimbus Clouds
  • Nimbus clouds are the lowest cloud.
  • They usually mean snow, rain or fog.
  • They form in fluffy dark masses.

10
Forecasting weather
  • A Barometer measures air pressure.
  • Anemometers measures wind speed.
  • Thermometer measures temperature.
  • Rain gauge measures precipitation.
  • A Wind sock tells wind direction.

11
Recording information
  • Pop possibility of precipitation.
  • Humidity is the moisture in the air.
  • Dew point is when temperature turns gas into
    liquid.
  • Temperature measures if its hot or cold.
