When Disaster Strikes The Baresa Kitchens Story

• On the morning on March 6, 2007, Nick Clarizio
  arrived at his 30 year old cabinet making
  business in Hamilton to find it up in flames. He
  is now forced to rebuild his company from the
  ground up.
• The following slides will provide a before and
  after picture of the events of the devastating
  fire.

• Before the fire
• Family owned and operated since the 1970s.
• Staff of 30 people.
• Located in Hamilton, ON.
• Manufacturer of kitchen cabinets and household
  accessories.
• Employees worked on four kitchens per day.

• According to the owner, the cause of the fire was
  a repairmans blowtorch flame accidentally
  igniting the roof of the factory.
• Irreplaceable cabinet templates designed by the
  owner were all lost in the fire.
• The entire building and the machinery which was
  owned, was completely destroyed.

• After the fire
• Baresa immediately notified all of the their
  customers of the fire and the effect it would
  have on their specific projects.
• Baresa Kitchens has relocated to a smaller,
  temporary facility across the street from their
  old factory. The new factory should be completed
  by March 2008.
• Less than 20 of Baresas 30 employees were
  called back to work due to the smaller work space
  and diminished productivity. Currently,
  employees are only able to work on two kitchens
  per day.
