Implications for Caregivers
  • Adults are active participants in helping
    children resolve conflicts inherent in each stage
    of development
  • Include families in decisions concerning
    children's problem behaviors

    providing opportunities to acquire new skills
    practice already acquired skills
  • Support children's need to be independent by
    allowing them to make choices do things without
    adult intervention
