Title: Pirates of the Caribbean II: Dead Mans Chest

1
Pirates of the Caribbean II Dead Mans Chest
  • Mistakes and Inaccuracies

2
Summary
East India Trading Company
Key to Davy Jones chest
Compass that points to Whatever you want most
Will Turner
Davy Jones chest containing his heart
Captain Jack Sparrow
3
Davy Jones
  • squid/crab/human chimera
  • His still beating heart is in a box

4
Davy Jones
  • Although it is possible for a chimera(a creature
with two different sets of DNA) to exist , it is
    impossible between species

5
Davy Jones
  • Even though his heart is still beating it
doesnt mean hes alive. If the heart is not in
the body the beating does not circulate blood
  • If blood is not circulated, oxygen cannot reach
the cells and cellular respiration, which
provides energy for all the bodys functions,
cannot occur and he would die.
  • Barnacles could live on him

6
Water Wheel
  • The angles of the planks on the water wheel
almost non-existent so the force the water would
have on them would not turn the wheel

7
Water Wheel 2
  • The Key inside the wheel is hanging on a nail
while the wheel spins around and doesnt fall off
  • The Wheel is not spinning fast enough for the key
to be affected by centripetal force, it hangs
    freely on the wheel
  • It is not tied to the nail because Will is then
able to grab it off of the nail later in the scene

8
Bone Cage
  • There is a backbone in the bone cage
  • The bones are too big to be human

9
Bone Cage
  • The backbone is made up of multiple smaller bones
connected by ligaments and so could not stand
alone and together in the bone cage
  • The Femur is the largest bone in the human body,
and is smaller than some of the bones shown in
    the bone cage

Bone Cage 2
  • No upwards velocity
  • It would either break or hit the tree and bounce
    back
  • The people inside, having fallen from the top of
the tree would likely have been injured

Rum and Gunpowder
  • There was nothing to ignite the rum and
gunpowder, its the same as throwing a ball of
lead into a bottle of alcohol
