The Learners

• Middle school geometry class
• 7th and 8th graders
• Completed a year of Pre-Algebra and
• a semester of Geometry

The student will be able to

• Apply the math concepts in this
• lesson to their test
• Earn a grade of at least 75
• Accurately explain each step
• they perform on each problem

Math Standards

• Describe changes in size,
• position, or orientation under
• compositions of transformations
• Use coordinate geometry to
• describe geometric relationships
• and properties of geometric
• figures

Technology Standards

• Students practice responsible use of
• technology systems, information, and
• software
• Students use technology tools to enhance
• learning, increase productivity, and
• promote creativity
• Students use a variety of media and formats
• to communicate information and ideas
• effectively to multiple audiences

Introduction Activity

• Have the students share the
• areas that they need the most
• help in
• Ask the students if they have
• played Jeopardy before
• Explain the rules so that there
• is no confusion or debate

Instructional Activity

• Have the students split into three
• groups
• Use odd man safe to see which
• group goes first
• Start powerpoint jeopardy review
• session (see powerpoint)

Closing Activity

• Have the students share any other
• areas that they may need help in
• Discuss how the use of technology
• helped them in this review session

Follow up Activity

• Quick review on the morning of
• the test
• Each student gets no more than
• one question.
• Only yes or no answers

Lesson Assessment

• 30 question open answer test
• Use of an answer key to grade
• the tests
• If scores are not as good as they
• should be, possibility of a curve

• Microsoft Powerpoint software
• Computer for presentation
• Projector and screen
• Paper and pen for score keeping
• Print out of Jeopardy score board
• to cross off which questions were
• previously selected.
