First, Our Own Story

• Reno County MRC
• Originally funded through HHS
• Created in Oct. 2003
• Hired Coordinator March 2004
• Transitioned from HD to EM September 2006
• Presently funded through NACCHO and local tax
  dollars

Our Vital Statistics

• Currently, we have
• 59 RN or LPN
• 1 Nurse Practitioner
• 1 Veterinarian
• 3 Mental Health
• 2 Social Workers
• 1 Psychologist
• 7 EMT
• 13 Other Health
• CNA, CMA, etc
• 10 Non-medical

94 Total Volunteers

Great Ideas

• Work with a Volunteer Center
• Gather a Planning Group
• Include Health Dept, Hospital, EMS, Fire,
  Emergency Mgt, Clinics or MD ofc, Vol Ctr, Red
  Cross, etc.
• Look for Unmet Needs in the Community
• Dont specialize too much, but dont try to cover
  too much either
