2About Eva
- Eva was born in 1936 at Deva in Romania. She
lived with her mother called Elisabeth and her
father called Rudolph and her sister called
Judith. She died in June 1944 at the Auschwitz
camp. She was only 8 years old.

3During the holocaust
- When the war broke out Eva and her parents
moved to Reghin in Romania. They were then
transported by cattle truck to the Auschwitz
camp. She died here a few days later. However,
there is no proof of how she died.

- Evas family were also Jewish.
- They all got transported to the Auschwitz camp in
June 1944. - In the same month that they were transported to
the Auschwitz camp, where her and her family were
put in gas chambers.

7Elisabeth Gersch (Evas Mother)
- Elisabeth Grunfeld was born in 1914 in Mures,
Transylvania. - She married Rudolph Gersch and became a
housewife. - They moved to Deva and had a child named Eva.
- She died at the age of 40 in the Auschwitz camp.
8Rudolph Gersch (Evas Father)
- Rudolph was also known as Raful.
- He was born in Filea in Romania.
- He married Elisabeth and had a child in Deva.
- He died in the Auschwitz camp at the age of 55
with his family.
9Judith Gersch (Evas older sister)
- Like Eva, Judith was born in Deva in 1932.
- When the holocaust broke out, she moved with the
rest of her family to Reghin. - She also died at the Auschwitz camp in June 1944
when she was 12.

11Sarlota Gersch (Evas Aunt)
- Sarlota was born in Tarnaveni in Romania in 1897.
- She moved to Reghin with Eva the rest of her
family. - They then all got transported to the Auschwitz
camp where they were gassed. - Sarlota was 47 years old.

Note I think there is more Gerschs that died in
the holocaust. However, it is impossible to see
the relation to Eva through the information I can
find.

Eva Gersch and trace back her family. - Adela Gersch was the person that emailed in all
the information about the Gerschs. She was Evas
cousin and a survivor of the holocaust.
14The Auschwitz camp where Eva and her family were
sent
Some people at the Auschwitz camp. They are shown
in there bed. This is a usual situations where
there are more than 3 people in one bed.
This is a section of the Auschwitz camp.
The Auschwitz camp was where most Jews were sent
because it was the largest camp. The Auschwitz
camp was where Eva and her family were gassed,
however, not everyone was killed there because it
was not just a death camp. On the next few slides
are some pictures of the camp.
