  • Indexes over 1000 journals in business and

  • Provides full text to over 400 journals including
    Journal of Labor Economics, Journal of Industrial

BIDS Bath Information Dataservices
  • is a group of databases, which includes
  • IBSS - The International Bibliography of the
    Social Sciences
  • Ingenta journals

BIDS-IBSS the International Bibliography of the
Social Sciences
  • Covers books periodicals from 1951
  • 2400 journals and 7000 books per year are indexed
  • Updated weekly
  • Good for contemporary history

Web of Science
  • Covers all subjects, but is divided into Arts
    Humanities, Social Sciences and Science
  • Altogether, 7500 journals are indexed
  • The database contains references from 1981
  • Its very up to date - updated weekly
  • On the world wide web at http//wos.mimas.
    ac.uk/
  • Sometimes referred to as Web of Knowledge
  • Covers all subjects - surprisingly useful for
    history, though sometimes difficult to narrow
    down historical periods

  • A big source of electronic journals, usually
    recent years.
  • We get access only to the ones that we subscribe
    to
  • You may be asked to pay if we dont subscribe.
    Use interlibrary loans instead

  • An electronic archive of journals
  • Back issues not current
  • Usually back to the start of publication
  • Journals such as American Journal of Sociology,
    Gender Society, Economic Journal, Journal of
    Economic Literature.
