• The Electromagnetic Spectrum is the range of all
  possible electromagnetic radiation.
• The 7 parts of the Spectrum are
• Gamma Rays
• X-rays
• Ultraviolet Rays
• Visible Light
• Infrared Waves
• Microwaves
• Radio Waves

Wavelength

• A wavelength is the distance between one peak or
  crest of a wave and the next peak or crest.
• There can be short wavelengths and long
  wavelengths.
• The left side of the spectrum has short
  wavelengths and the right side of the spectrum
  has long wavelengths.

Frequency

• The number of crests of a wave that move past a
  given point in a given amount of time.
• The left side of the spectrum has a high
  frequency and the right side of the spectrum has
  low frequency.

Is there a difference between the waves?

• Even though the waves are produced in different
  was and they are detected differently they are
  still about the same thing.
• They are all a part of electromagnetic radiation.

Visible Light

• Visible light is the only part of the
  Electromagnetic Spectrum that the human eye can
  see.
• 10 of the people in the world are color blind.
• This would mean that they have trouble seeing the
  visible light in the spectrum.
