Title: VALSTYBES IMONE IGNALINOS ATOMINE ELEKTRINE STATE ENTERPRISE
1VALSTYBES IMONEIGNALINOS ATOMINE ELEKTRINE
STATE ENTERPRISE IGNALINA NUCLEAR POWER PLANT
2 State Enterprise Ignalina Nuclear Power Plant
is the principal producer of electric power in
Lithuania. The first Unit of Ignalina NPP
was put in operation in December 1983, and the
second one in August 1987. The plant
generates about 80 of total electric power
consumption in Lithuania.
3In accordance with requirements of European
Union, Lithuania was obligated to cease the plant
operation by 31 December 2009. On 31 December
2004 Unit 1 was shut down. After the shut down
of Unit 1 the electric power production by
Ignalina NPP amounts to 70 of total electric
power consumption in Lithuania.
4ACTIVITY OF IGNALINA NPP AS ELECTRIC POWER
PRODUCER
5The reduction in amount of production in 2006 is
explained by the longer period of planned
preventive outage of the Unit 2. In 2005 the
outage lasted 35 days and in 2006 51 days. At
the moment one turbogenerator is under repair,
which is planned to be accomplished by 1 January.
6ELECTRICITY TRADING TO INTERNAL MARKET
The major part of electric power is sold to
public suppliers distribution networks, i.?.
JSC "VST" (Western distribution networks) and JSC
Eastern distribution networks. An average 76 of
total electric power traded to the internal
market are sold to these companies. About 12
are sold to the Market Operator JSC Lietuvos
Energija. The remaining part of electric power
traded to the internal market is sold to the
independent suppliers JSC "Mazheikiu elektrine",
JSC "Achema", state enterprise "Visagino
Energija", JSC "Akmenes cementas" and JSC
"Ekranas"

8EXPORT OF ELECTRICITY
The major part of the exported electric power is
sold to Russian company Inter RAO JEC. Moreover,
the electric power is exported to Latvia and
Estonia. The percentage ratio of the exported
electric power is shown at the diagram below.

10ACTIVITY OF IGNALINA NPP AS INDEPENDENT SUPPLIER
OF ELECTRIC POWER
Ignalina Nuclear Power Plant traded electricity
according 2 contracts to customers - JSC
Lifosa - CJSC Korelita.
In 2005 the electric power sale to unconfined
customers reduced to about 14, correspondingly
other activities were reduced. Electricity
trading to the unconfined customers makes about
1 of total amount of the traded electricity.
11Rates for unconfined customers
In 2005 the differential rate and blanket rate
for electric power were set for unconfined
customers. The differential rate was set
according to the temporary established areas
- during minimum demand - 7.1 ct/kW - during
average demand - 9.1 ct/kW - during maximal
demand - 14.6 ct/kW - during red-letter days
and days off - 7.1 ct/kW. Blanket rate - 8.9
ct/kW. During the scheduled and unscheduled
outage of the power unit a rate was set - 12
ct/kW.
