  coastal area of New South Wales.

Area City and Suburbs

• Sydney has a harbor in the center of the city
  that splits it in half all the way to the
  Parammatta suburb of Sydney.
• The harbor is Port Jackson
• The city central, known as the business district,
  is located on the harbors south edge.
• The eastern suburbs are on the east shore south
  of Port Jackson
• On the north side of the harbor, are the north
  suburbs
• Towards the west are the west suburbs

• Main Beaches such as Manly and Palm Beach in
  North Suburbs.

Sydney Background History

• The west coast of Australia was discovered by the
  Dutch in the 17th century.
• The east coast was discovered by Captain James
  Cook(at time was a lieutenant) on April 29, 1770.
• He had landed at Botany bay, which borders the
  south edge of Sydney and claimed the entire east
  coast for King George the third of England.
• Over a decade later the British sent convicts
  over.
