What is Technology Integration?

• It is about learning and student and teacher
  empowerment.
• It is about teaching students to use data and
  information, think critically, solve problems,
  communicate ideas and evaluate.
• It is about doing using technology to do things
  that we wouldnt otherwise be able to do.
• It is about collaborating, sharing resources and
  ideas with people from all over the world.

What are Good Examples of Technology Integration?

• Teachers learning through on-line tutorials or
  distance-education courses.
• Use of the Internet to Web-base lessons and
  activities, e.g. WebQuests.
• Enhancing classroom lessons through the use of
  Internet projects, e.g. ePals, iEARN, ThinkQuest.
• Accessing PBL assessment examples on-line.

• A term created by Bernie Dodge from the San Diego
  State University.
• Learning activities in which some or all of the
  information that students interact with comes
  from sites on the Internet.
• Can focus on a single topic or be
  multidisciplinary.
• May be short-term or long-term.

• There are many excellent web sites that provide
  free, ready-made lesson plan resources.
• Many sites are searchable by topics and year
  levels.
• Most plans will need to be adapted to the needs
  of your students and your classroom.

• A rubric is a simple way to show students what
  they need to do.
• It gives clear guidelines to students as to what
