10TOPIC 1.2 SUMMARY
11 The purpose of this topic was to describe the
responsibilities of the ASD to include Supply
Response Section (SRS) and the Component Control
Section (CCS), as outlined in the
COMNAVAIRFORINST 4790.2 series. We stated that
the ASD is an entity of the Navy Supply System,
charged with providing material in support of
operation and maintenance of aeronautical
equipment.
12 Additionally, weve stated that the ASD is
comprised of two Sections Supply Response and
Component Control. The Supply Response Section
serves as the point of contact for satisfying
maintenance material requirements. It consists of
RCU, TRU, PMU. MDU, and PEB. The Component
Control Section is responsible for repairable
management and those repairable items being
stored in the LRCA, IMA repair cycle, and those
being processed for shipment to DRPs. CCS
consists of DCU, LRCA, AWP, and SSU.
13 Collectively these units along with the IMA,
ensure the proper handling of requisitions,
components, and publications required to ensure
optimum material support to the customer, and
therefore is directly capable of achieving
excellence in supply support.
