Proposed Definition

• Long-Term Support Options Counseling is 1)
  counseling for the purpose of supporting a
  potential consumer, family members and
  significant others in their deliberations, 2)
  presenting the full range of options and 3)
  developing an options plan. In doing this, the
  counselor provides in-depth information about
  supports and services, the locations they may be
  provided, potential costs and payment options and
  assists the consumer to identify her/his
  preferences and potential resources to meet
  long-term care needs.
