Purpose of the Study
  • The purpose of the study is to identify
    shortcomings of the facility in the following
    areas
  • Site evaluation for usability, accessibility,
    transportation issues, play areas,
  • utility capacities, environmental issues, and
    building expansion potential
  • Building evaluation of existing facilities
    identifying shortcomings with
  • regards to educational programming and space
    requirements
  • Building evaluation for ADA accessibility, code
    compliance, plumbing,
  • HVAC, electrical, and data systems
  • Building evaluation for life cycle/maintenance
    issues for continued/extended
  • of existing facility

Description of Proposed Project
  • Provide programmed educational space that is
    similar to the districts other elementary
    schools.
  • Provide 18 classrooms (1st grade to 5th grade
    and multi-age at 1, 050 sq. ft. each).
  • Provide appropriate size and properly located
    special education classrooms.
  • Renovate, relocate, and provide appropriate
    sized instructional support spaces including
    computer labs, music, art, and LMC.
  • Include a media room that will be used as a
    large group instruction area or can be used by
    the community for meetings,
  • performances, and special presentations.
  • Consolidate existing administrative office
    spaces, add health, work, conference, and storage
    spaces and relocate the
  • administrative office area to school entrance
    area.
  • Relocate district pupil services to the new
    addition and remove existing house.
  • Provide parking and drive at northeast corner
    of site.
  • Relocate and enlarge cafeteria, kitchen,
    receiving, and storage areas.
