Setting the Scene

• The Problem
• An ad hoc CCTV network - evolved over several
  years with multiple monitoring locations.
• Police asking victims if CCTV in area.
• CCTV operators flying blind.
• No capability to meet recommendation 2.8 of the
  National CCTV Strategy.

• A Partnership System 1st conceived 29.08.06.
• Secure Internet Access via username password.
• Originally conceived as a system to show accurate
  locations of cameras potential fields of view
  now much expanded.

Implementation to Date

• System went live in September 2008.
• Currently 18 user organisations over 80 trained
  users.
• Very well received with over 260 visits per
  month.
• High quality data know what where.
• Data shared with neighbours to investigate cross
  border crime.

Future Plans

• Salford CC looking to host the system for other
  Greater Manchester authorities.
• Commercial packaged solution available from
  Cadcorp Ltd.
• Aspirations to be a widely used system with
  influential user group
