Most of the demolitions in the city during the
last decade have occurred in the north, south and
east sides. The oldest and least valuable housing
stock in the city followed a similar
distribution.

This map shows new residential and commercial
construction in the city from 1995-1999. Most of
the residential construction occurred in the
south and upper east sides, with CHOICE homes.
Those are partially government-subsidized homes
that are relatively inexpensive.

The red polygons on the map highlight parcels
that were in the citys land bank as of March,
2002. These parcels were widely distributed
throughout the citys north, east and south sides.
