We conduct research mainly concerning the nature
of monodisperse size selected metal/metal-oxide
model catalysts.
Currently, we are working on a collaborative
study with Clayton Williams (U of U Physics) to
probe the electronic properties of metal clusters
on SiO2 substrates as a function of Cluster
Size. We are also studying the nature of the
Irn/Al2O3 catalyzed decomposition of N2H4 via
ISS, XPS, TPD, and IRAS. We have the ability
to deposit size selected metal clusters (20
atoms max.) onto substrates of interest for any
type of investigation proposed.

We are looking to Collaborate with anyone who is
interested in studying the localized nature of
small metal clusters. (ie. Morphology and
electronic structure)
  • If this is something you are interested in
    exploring, we have the capability to produce and
    transport a sample under vacuum (UHV). (Some
    transfer design may be needed.)
