All about Florence!
Florence Nightingale was born in Italy in 1820.
She was named after a city called Florence. Ever
since she was a child she wanted to be a nurse
but her mother wouldnt let her, it was very rude
job for a ladies. Florence could speak English.
She was sent to Germany to train to be a
nurse. Years after she was a proper nurse, she
saved soldiers if they were injured from war.
Young boys in war played the drums for the
soldiers to march to the beat.
Conditions in the hospitals were a poor ling but
this is why Florence wanted to change it!

Hospitals!
Florence Nightingale wanted to change the way
hospitals were. She wanted them to provide food,
beds, bandages, water and clean sheets. She sent
letters to England telling them how bad the
conditions were. They finally gave her the
permission to change the hospital and then after
changing it the hospital looked like a brand new
hospital. After that she held a lamp to check on
the patients at night. Her nick-name was The
Lady with the lamp The hospital was clean as
ever from that day. No more soldiers were dieing
from dieses now on!

Feelings
Florence was very upset before she changed the
conditions but when she changed it she was a lot
happier!
