Business Need

• Project has been established to create a new
  computer-based system to replace our current
  paper-based system
• New computer system will allow employees to track
  inventory and sales and allow customers to access
  our database to find the item they are searching
  for

• We are a small bookstore and want to expand our
  bookstore to accommodate the increasing number of
  customers.

• Can track specific sales orders
• Keep track of amount of inventory in the store
• Enter in new sales orders

• Create reports based on sales information
• Help customers access the database of inventory
• Can track the items that are popular

• Be able to search for an item by the using the

• Genre
• Author/artist
• Title
• ISBN number

• Reduce cost of buying unpopular items
• Increase sales (can complete sales quicker)
• Reduce overhead costs

• Can use just-in-time inventory system (will not
  have excess inventory and will not have items out
  of stock)
