Citation Choices

• Two citation choices are
• APA (American Psychological Association)
• MLA (Modern Language Association)
• Both APA and MLA provide rules for correctly
  crediting the sources used in a research paper or
  project.
• Your instructor will specify which citation
  style you should use.

Citation Builders

• These web sites will create your APA or MLA
  citations for you. You must enter the
  appropriate data in the requested fields.

Word of Caution

• Occasionally, APA and MLA will change their
  formatting styles. The library has no control
  over these changes.
• Also, while we make every effort to review the
  web sites provided, an error can still occur.
• Ultimately, it is your responsibility to become
  familiar with the citation format used in your
  class.

Print Editions

• The library purchases the latest print editions
  of both APA and MLA style manuals. You are
  encouraged to consult these books.
• Publication Manual of the American Psychological
  Association
• MLA Handbook for Writers of Research
• The most up-to-date edition of each manual is
  located on reserve at the Circulation Desk. Older
  copies may be found in the book stacks, but these
  may not have the newest guidelines.
