    with charitable causes.

    surrounding area.

Who Can Give to the Foundation?
  • ANYONE!
  • Donors to the Foundation are from a variety of
    backgrounds with a common commitment to the
    communitys well-being.

  • YES!!! No gift is too small. Gifts of 25, 10,
    or even 1 may be made to these existing funds

Who Manages the Foundation?
  • SHCF is an affiliate of the Greater Salina
    Community Foundation who assists donors in
    creating funds and making donations.
  • When you invest in your community, a local board
    of directors is responsible for all grant
    distributions from the Smoky Hill Charitable
    Foundation.

When To Give
  • You can contribute to a fund now, establish it in
    your will, or create in through a trust
    arrangement that benefits your family as well as
    charity.
  • Tax deductions are earned at the time of the
    gift, while grants awarded from the fund will
    continue into the future.
  • The Foundation is a 501(c) organization.

What is an Unrestricted Fund?
  • Offer the broadest giving option.
  • Allow the Foundations Board of Directors to make
    grants that respond to emerging problems and
    needs in the community.

What is a Designated Fund?
  • Allows donors to support specific organizations
    with automatic annual contributions.
  • The Foundation makes sure that grants to these
    groups remain relevant over time and responsive
    to changing
  • circumstances.
  • 10,000 minimum to start a new fund

  • Enables donors to recommend specific charitable
    organizations to receive grants as needs arise.
  • 10,000 minimum to start a new fund.

What is an Organization Fund?
  • Established by non-profit organizations as a
    source of long-term endowment and annual income.
  • The Foundation handles administrative and
    investment responsibilities, so the organization
    can pursue its charitable mission.

  • Helps students pursue academic goals.
  • Donors may define guidelines for candidacy, the
    advisory committee, the school and the award

    field or geographic area that is of interest to
    the donor.

    contributions are eligible for the highest tax
    deductions.

    Foundation takes care of all the administrative
    and grant-making activities.
