Welcome to Mr. Montrellas Finite Math Class

Finite Math
  • Finite Math is a college-preparatory course,
building on skills learned in Algebra 1,
    Geometry, and Algebra 2.
  • Successful completion of Finite Math may be
    required for graduation.
  • Application skills are emphasized with review of
previous concepts to prepare for Summative State
    Exam.
  • Seniors taking Finite Math will have an advantage
when taking the math entrance exam at any
    college.

Worksheet practice as well as Accelerated Math
    practice.
  • Students are required to print lecture notes
    prior to class session.

7
Homework
  • Homework is collected daily.
  • Each assignment is worth 2 points if every
    problem is finished completely.
  • If the assignment is not perfect, but at least ½
complete, it is worth 1 point.
  • If the assignment is less than ½ complete, it is
    worth 0 points.

8
Homework Policies
  • Because of the critical nature of daily practice
through homework, any student who does not earn
at least 50 of the total homework points will
    automatically fail the class.
  • All late homework assignments will be collected
up until the day of the unit test for half credit
assuming the assignment is complete. After that
time, late homework will be worth zero points.
  • If you are absent on the day an assignment is
collected and your absence is verified/excused,
then you have 24 hours from the day you return to
school to turn in your missed homework
assignment(s). Otherwise, the assignment will be
    counted as late.

9
Grading Policies
  • Tests All students in class on the day of a test
are required to take the test
  • If a student has a verified/excused absence on
the day of a test, the student should be prepared
to make up the test upon his/her return.
  • Make-up tests will not be the same as the
    original test given.
