  • Starting with the class of 2008, all Washington
    public high school graduates must fulfill the
    following four statewide requirements as
    determined by the State Board of Education
  • complete a Culminating Project
  • craft a High School and Beyond Plan
  • pass a minimum number of credits in high school
  • classes
  • earn a Certificate of Academic Achievement
  • Students in the Tahoma School District must
    complete a total of 22 credits towards
    graduation.

Certificate of Academic Achievement (CAA)
  • Signifies students met statewide reading,
    writing, and math standards on the 10th-grade
    WASL by the end of H.S.
  • Helps ensure all WA students get a foundation of
    essential skills

H.S. Beyond Plan
  • Students detail plans for
  • meeting H.S. graduation requirements
  • identifying their next step(s) after high school
    (e.g. college, technical training, military
    service or work).

Culminating Project
  • Encourages students to think analytically,
    logically and creatively and to integrate
    experience and knowledge to solve problems
  • Gives students a chance to explore a topic in
    which they have great interest
  • Offers students an opportunity to apply their
    learning in a real world way
