New US Customs requirements

• Mawb manifest information must be reported to
  US Customs at least 4 hours before flight arrival
  into the US
• Complete accuracy on names addresses zip codes
  descriptions etc.
• Hawb information must be reported to US Customs
  at least 4 hours before flight arrival into the
  US
• Complete accuracy on names addresses zip codes
  descriptions etc.
• Complete accuracy on what travelled on the flight

• New rules passed through US congress on 05Dec03
• The goal for compliance is 05Jan04
• The final date for full compliance is 04Mar04
• Penalties to be imposed for non-compliance after
  this date
• Delay in clearance of freight

Impact

• Rather than doing the reporting by import at
  destination after arrival into US, new rules now
  mean it needs to be done by export at origin
• Significant changes at acceptance and build-up
• Require all Hawb information for all Consolidated
  shipments to US
• Require Hawb manifest where goods loaded
• Need for information received electronically from
  forwarder
• Timeliness and accuracy of this information is
  critical
• May impact ability to export a shipment to US
