There are 30 students in a class.
The Japanese students get to use computers and
the Internet.
Students must pass tests in order to enter high
school or college, and they study very diligently
for these exams.

Every day the students also clean their rooms,
halls, toilets, and yards of their own school.
Students enter first grade after their sixth
birthday.
All Japanese children are required to attend
school through the ninth grade.
