- Who is ASCnet and what is our Position and
Intentions
3Who is ASCnet . . .
- Representing over 5,000 agencies and brokers
throughout the world. - Our members are part of a group of over 8,500
agencies and brokerages with over 100,000
desktops using the current versions. - Our users group is voluntary -- we earn our
members support. - Canadian Numbers
4Our Position Statement
- It is the position of the ASCnet Interface
Committee to promote e-commerce through true
SEMCI (Single Entry Multiple Company Interface) - SEMCI refers to the ability to enter data into an
brokerage management system and transfer it to
multiple company systems (upload) without having
to re-enter the data for each company. Companies
then return policy information to update the
brokerages management system (download). - Transmissions may occur in batch or real-time
mode.
5Intentions of ASCnet
- It is the intent of ASCnet that our vendor, the
companies we represent, the organizations of
ACORD, CSIO and IVANS, and all involved, use
technologies available today and channel our
concerted efforts toward achieving true SEMCI.
Realizing that SEMCI is a Workflow and not a
Technology.
