Concept
Technical Approach

• Provide graphic, formulae, photograph, model,
  etc.

• Mobilization provides the opportunity to trade
  off costs versus sampling and coverage.
• The effectiveness of a mobile system can be
  increased through redundant cross-calibration.
• One of the critical factors regarding the
  deployment of remote sensors is power. The
  available power level determines what array of
  technologies can be brought to bear for
  detection. Vehicle-based systems can take
  advantage of the vehicles existing power system.

• A mobile sensing system, capable of detecting
  radiological, chemical and biological agents
  utilizing public transportation vehicles. The
  process that the transit authority goes through
  to plan routes essentially insures that routes
  pass through high-population areas with important
  infrastructure. Route- based vehicle-mounted
  sensor deployment can effectively concentrate
  sensors in areas of maximal interest.
• Maintenance of a route-based mobile system would
  be significantly less expensive than a
  fixed-location distributed system.
