What is the trend in the workplace?
  52 of all jobs require more than a high school
diploma, but less than a baccalaureate
degree 70 of all new jobs will require some
form of post-secondary education, but not a
baccalaureate degree

• Goal of secondary education is to get as many
• students into four-year colleges as possible.
• Teachers, administrators, students and parents
  
• are concerned about passing the Regents
  Exams,
• which leaves little time for the extras like
  
• career planning.
• Some in education encourage students to
• defer career planning until after high school,
  
• if not college.
