  unit standards regarded as highly critical in the
  sector
• 1134 learners supported in bursaries at
  Technikons universities in programmes aimed at
  majority scarce professional skills (Civil
  engineering, quantity surveying, structural
  engineering)
• 1391 learners registered on ABET level 1-4

• The above includes mentorship programmes for

  experience that enables them to take up work
  after completion of the programme

Future Plans for Organisation

• CETA has engaged the GDE in an effort to align
  the learnerships with the FET curricular- Task
  team in place
• Facilitation of workplace experiential placement
  with FETs
• Encourage learners, particularly women and youth
  to consider entepreneurship
• Continue setting provincial targets on scarce and
  critical skills
• Challenges- Rural provinces are dominated by low
  NQF level courses.
